How to Activate or Deactivate Your License
Paid ScribeForge plans are tied to a license key, activated on a limited number of devices at once. Here's how activation and deactivation work.
Activating a license
- Open License in the sidebar.
- Enter the license key from your purchase confirmation.
- Click activate. ScribeForge validates the key and unlocks Pro features on this device.
Moving to a new computer
If you're switching machines — a new laptop, a reinstall — deactivate the license on the old device first (License → Deactivate), then activate it on the new one with the same key. This frees up the activation slot.
Hit your device limit?
Each plan allows a limited number of active devices at once. If you try to activate on a new device while already at your limit, deactivate an old device first, or check your account on the customer dashboard to manage active devices remotely.
Offline use
Once activated, ScribeForge periodically re-validates your license in the background but includes an offline grace period — you don't need to be connected to the internet every time you transcribe. If you've been offline for an extended period, connect briefly to let it re-validate.
