How to Burn Subtitles Into a Video

Subtitle "burn-in" permanently embeds captions into the video itself — as opposed to a separate SRT/VTT file the viewer's player has to load. This is useful for platforms or contexts where soft subtitles aren't supported or reliably displayed (some social platforms, for instance).

How to burn in subtitles

1. Transcribe your video first (see video to text), or import an existing SRT file if you already have captions.
2. From the transcript, choose the subtitle burn-in option and select the source video file.
3. Customize the appearance: font size, text color, outline color and width, and on-screen position (bottom, top, etc.).

When to use burn-in vs. a separate subtitle file

• Use burn-in for short-form social clips, or any platform that doesn't reliably support separate caption tracks.
