How to Set Up a Watch Folder

0 views Sep 16, 2026

Watch Folders are one of ScribeForge's more distinctive features: point the app at a folder, and any audio or video file that appears there afterward gets picked up and transcribed automatically — no need to open the app and start each one manually.

Why this is useful

  • A recorder or voice-memo app that syncs to a folder — every new recording gets transcribed without you lifting a finger.
  • A shared "intake" folder for a team, where anyone can drop a file and get a transcript back.
  • Automatically processing exports from other software (Zoom recordings, screen capture tools, etc.) that land in a fixed folder.

Setting it up

  1. Open Watch Folder in the sidebar.
  2. Choose the folder you want ScribeForge to monitor.
  3. Pick the model and language to use for anything it picks up.
  4. Click Start watching. ScribeForge now checks that folder continuously and transcribes new files as they appear.
  5. Click Stop at any point to pause monitoring — existing transcripts aren't affected.

This is a Pro feature

Watch Folders are included on paid plans, alongside batch processing and URL transcription. See pricing for the full feature comparison.
